Student-led Catering, Projects, Events, and Sales

One of the most common questions we hear goes something like this:

I have an event coming up. Can your kids make (fill in the blank)?

The truth is, there’s not a lot my students CAN’T do. We are only limited by the capacity of our cooking equipment, transportation issues, and requirements of the school’s schedule.

We have served meals to dignitaries and local officials, catered medium-sized wedding receptions and huge banquets, and most everything you can imagine in between.

More than likely, our students can cater your next event as well.

If you want our students to serve your organization or business, we need significant lead time – so the kids can practice the recipes they will use to cater your event, to arrange transportation, and to order supplies. Please contact us at LEAST six weeks before your event is scheduled to occur. Chef Bates will go over potential menus and provide 1-3 options and then a quote for your approval.

Sales

While we have a great support relationship with OCPS, our students are ALWAYS making products for sale – both for the experience and to so all of our students have the opportunity to cook more often.

From fresh pickles to smoked bacon to our annual Christmas Cookie and Cupid Cupcake Sales – we have a ton of amazing products made by hand for sale on a rotating basis throughout the year. Apopka residents and school supporters: we are happy to sell you all kinds of great food items for you to enjoy. Follow us on social media for updates on coming sales and snatch the deals as soon as you see them! We almost ALWAYS sell out!

Students

All our students are welcome to apply to join any of these special projects, however, magnet students and competition team members always get preferential choice. It is also important to note that students must be passing all their core courses and be on track for graduation to be eligible to participate in extracurricular activities, especially those which take place during the school day and which require them to miss other classes.

At the end of the day, there is nothing more important than each and every one of our students successfully graduating from high school!
